WDJE HISTORY ...
WDJE began operations in Grove City, Ohio in 1994 on 90.1 mhz.
From 1999 to 2001 WDJE was re-broadcast overnights on Community21 and over Time Warner cable system throughout Columbus and Franklin county.
Remote broadcasts began from Lighthouse Community Church during Columbus' RED, WHITE & BOOM July 4th Celebrations. For a time, it looked like WDJE would move to the Lighthouse location on the south side of Columbus. Work began with wiring of WDJE's future studio there but due to church staff changes and sudden lack of assistance...WDJE made the move to our present location in Galloway and changed our frequency to 89.1 fm.
In 2004, FLOUNDER of Star 107.9 joined forces with WDJE and began airing FRIDAY NIGHT 80's. About this same time, J-Rock began doing his own J-rock show on The Ultimate and the rest is history ! On some holidays WDJE features a marathon of Flounder and J-Rock shows aired on "the Ultimate !"
During 2005, D.J.'s "Radio As It Used to Be" was featured on Yesterday USA Radio Network and on WGN Chicago and several cable outlets.
In 2008, WDJE added specialty programs like MUSICAL STARSTREAMS and CHILL with Chris Botti to the Ultimate's line up. In October WDJE began WAKY am790 and WDJE ventures into TV broadcasting with WDJE TV15 on u.h.f. channel 15.
WDJE is now a member of STAR ENTERTAINMENT Radio Network. Stay Tuned !

JULY 30th 2010 marked the end of SMOOTH JAZZ 103.5 WJZA, Columbus, Ohio. The new music format means FRITZ the NITE OWL and his NITE OWL JAZZ programs are gone, too. It was my pleasure to have worked there at WJZA 103.5 & WJZK 104.3 for the past several years and to have had great fun guest hosting on FRITZ's show from time to time. Please contact other Central Ohio radio stations and request their picking up Fritz's program. - D.J.
